ArtHeart is celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday at our third annual SPRUNG Art Show & Sale! ArtHeart’s participants were either born in Canada or moved here from other countries so they could become proud Canadians.
Their artwork for SPRUNG reflects a love of Canada, whether it’s a place they’ve always known or one they now call home. The exhibit is a tribute to Canada’s energy, creativity and openness. We know you will enjoy it!
The SPRUNG Show & Sale features a variety of artwork including landscapes, portraits and abstracts. Through watercolour, acrylic, fabric and mixed media, ArtHeart’s participants tell their stories about being Canadian.
When you walk through the landscape exhibit you’ll find yourself on the shores of Newfoundland, deep in a pine forest or at a Toronto intersection waiting for the streetcar. Our portrait exhibit is a collection of familiar faces for ArtHeart. Many of the models are our participants who reflect the diversity that makes Canada unique. In addition to a vibrant abstract section, SPRUNG artists have also woven beautiful fabric pieces that form small tapestries of their Canadian stories.
ArtHeart’s participants attend free weekly classes where they receive instruction and fresh, nutritious meals. Our art programs are welcoming, inclusive and friendly, just like the country we are honouring with this year’s SPRUNG Art Show & Sale.
Proceeds from sales will be shared by ArtHeart and the artists. (Prices range from $30 – $150) Your purchase of a painting or a donation will help ArtHeart continue the classes that are vital to our participants. Thank you for your support!
