ArtHeart Community Art Center
Structure ArtHeart operates solely on funding provided by corporate and private foundations, personal donors, in-kind gifts and benefactors. Thanks to a core staff team, a large team of volunteers, community partners and a working Board we are able to offer the Regent Park community this valuable resource. Core Staff Executive Director - Judy Fournier Prior to joining ArtHeart in 2013 as Executive Director, Judy was the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the prior 14 months. Judy worked at the same company for over 34 years as General Manager and Bookkeeper. She also serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Bermudiana Foundation of Canada. She volunteered with the Don Mills Collegiate Institute Show Choir, “Northern Lights” when her son was in school and still helps out occasionally with costume making and prop designing. For many years she was the Head Choir Mom for the boys in the St James Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys. She has worked to raise funds for many organizations and brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to her role as Executive Director. Studio Manager - Timothy Svirklys Tim has been a community arts practitioner with ArtHeart for over twenty years in a variety of roles. Tim is a self-taught systems administrator. He has acted as an IT consultant for both the corporate and private sector for over 16. He is the founder of ArtHeart’s Digital Arts Lab, where he currently teaches digital arts and website construction to the children, youth, adults, seniors and families. He was one of the original founders of ArtHeart’s Youth Employment Program which provides job skills training and employment for Regent Park youth. Tim also oversees ArtHeart’s “No Starving Artists!” Food Program. Board Members Seanna Connell – Co-Chair

Some partnerships include: • The Junior League with Kids in the Kitchen project
• The Multi-Cultural Harvest Festival
• Nuit Blanche
• Kiwanis Boys & Girls Club
• Regent Park Film Festival
• Regent Park School of Music
• Toronto ArtScape
• Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre – Little Embers Throughout the year, ArtHeart also creates opportunities for student placements from local high schools, colleges and universities, including Havergal College, Royal St George's College, York, Ryerson and George Brown College. These dedicated individuals prepare for the start of their professional careers by working with our program participants over several months. The student placements bring their own talents, interests and skill set into the mix as they collaborate with ArtHeart staff and volunteers on art projects often with an emphasis on health and social issues. Financial Supporters Thank you to our many foundations, corporate and private individual donors. And a special thanks to the Daily Bread Food Banks, Second Harvest and Ace Bakery for their donations of vegetables, meat, fruit, packaged foods and bread used in preparation of meals and snacks for the participants.
